Hurricane Sheen Flops Again at Radio City

An article on Sun-Productions brought to light the chaos surrounding “Charlie Sheen LIVE: My Violent Torpedo of Truth,” discussing the extra precautions New York’s police department was taking in preparation for Sheen’s two Radio City Music Hall shows. After a couple bad runs, including one embarrassing show in Detroit, the actor and comedian was up against some critics and apprehensive fans before his New York shows. Unfortunately, he struck out once again.

Sun-Productions reported that Sheen’s unfunny antics and rude comments were met with boos, shouting and even a few walk-outs in Detroit. At Radio City, it only took 20 minutes for the crowd to turn on him. The boos and catcalls started early and grew throughout the show, as the audience became more disappointed with Sheen’s performance. The show included an excessively long parody video of Sheen’s interview with Andrew Canning on “20/20,” which everyone in the audience had likely already seen. He opened with the line, “Surprise! I’m not staying at the f—ing Plaza Hotel!” From there, everything went downhill, as he proceeded to tell the audience stories they had already heard, leaving out any of the juicy details they’d presumably paid to hear, and doing it all in a manner that was more begrudging, less funny. Sheen’s final tour date is May 2, but there is a good chance his 15 minutes of fame will be up well before then.
